ABOUT CLOSED CELL SPRAY FOAM
VersiFoam® 2 lb closed cell spray foam insulation kits are available in two different formulations: Standard Formula and Class I (flame-retardant) Formula. The Standard Formula provides an R-value of 6.4 at a one-inch thickness. Recommended for most commercial and industrial applications, the Standard Formula is ideal for air sealing, wall or ceiling insulation, condensation control, sound dampening, structural enhancement, tank and pipe insulation, roof repair, marine flotation, truck/trailer insulation, sculpting and molding, pool and spa insulation, and much more.
The Class I (flame-retardant) Formula provides an R-value 6.5 at a one inch thickness. Classified as Class I in accordance with ASTM E-84, these flame-retardant kits will limit the flame spread and smoke development if exposed to a fire. Class I closed cell spray foam kits are recommended for use in inhabited buildings, including residential applications or any application in which flammability is a concern. Always consult your local building codes to determine if a flame retardant product is required for your application.
All of our Class I kits are manufactured with an anti-microbial formula that stops mold from growing on the surface of the foam. All VersiFoam® products are naturally mold resistant, but the added anti-microbial element provides a safeguard against the growth of the five most common types of fungi found in homes.
ABOUT SLOW RISE SPRAY FOAM
VersiFoam® is also available in a 2 pound per cubic foot density with slower reactivity. Where most of our foams are tack free in approximately 30 to 45 seconds, the Slow Rise formula is tack-free in approximately 3 minutes. This is useful in applications where the foam needs to flow to distant areas before it solidifies. The Slow Rise formula will expand approximately six times its original liquid volume, therefore, the Slow Rise foam is NOT recommended for use in wall cavities where one or more sides of the wall are gypsum wallboard or other material that would not withstand the pressure of the expansion.
The VersiFoam® Slow Rise System is 97% closed-cell and has an insulation R-value of 6.5. The VersiFoam® Slow Rise formula is available in several different sizes depending on the application and only available in Class I flame-retardant formulation.
ABOUT HIGH DENSITY SPRAY FOAM
VersiFoam® is available in a higher density system, with a free rise density of 2.8 pounds per cubic foot, 3 pounds per cubic foot in place. It is 98% closed cell resulting in an R-factor of 5.9, a low moisture absorption rate and excellent compressive strength. This high density spray foam formula is suitable for applications where a stronger, harder material is required, including cryogenics and polyurethane foam roofing repair. This formulation has an expansion rate six times its original liquid volume and is tack free in approximately 30 to 45 seconds and is available in the VersiFoam® Systems 10 and 33.
